Tonight’s ride is one of our most popular summertime evening rides. We park in the north overflow parking lot of Riverside Wine and cycle a block south to the old Crain Avenue Bridge that we cross over to the Portage Bike and Hike. Our short level 8 mile ride takes us to Towner’s Woods County Park where we turn and return to Kent.

On our return, we enjoy Riverside Wine’s beautiful deck overlooking the Cuyahoga River. It's a very causal place with reasonable prices. You can taste a flight of wine for around $10. There are many cheese, fruit, cracker and snack plates you can purchase for around $10 - $15. A large variety of beer and wine is available.

Note: This area is still under construction. The old Crain Avenue Bridge is under renovation into a bike and pedestrian walkway. As this ride gets closer, we will update you on the current status. We may have to park near the trail-head and then move our cars to Riverside if the bridge is closed or inaccessible.

This ride is rated as a level 1 (Cruisers) and is a social ride with an emphasis on fun, as well as learning or improving bicycling skills. It is ideal for all ages and just right for someone new to cycling, families with young children and those interested in slow paced shorter rides. The group travels up to 8 mph on mostly flat trails with possible gentle upgrades. The distance is less than 8 miles with frequent stops. The group waits for all cyclists with no one left behind.
