Introduction

As one of the group organizers, I want to share my enjoyment and the healthy benefits of cycling with others. As a weight loss sugery patient, I adopted a active lifestyle post-op. Cycling is more enjoyable in a group. Join me on a ride this year!

How often do you cycle today?

I am a fair weather cyclist. From spring through fall, I try to cycle the Towpath from Mustill Store to Portage Path and/or around my neighborhood several nights a week and a longer weekend rail trail ride.

Do you want to cycle with us on weeknights, the weekend, or both?

Both.

Are you interested in joining us on longer (20-30 miles) rail trail rides?

Yes. I love these chances to see familiar and new places from a more natural point of view. I so enjoy the good times friends and fellow WLS folks have shared on these longer rides. Plus, we always find an interesting place to eat along t he trail.

Do some from the group attend the Summa support meeting? I am planning to go this month. My sister is having RNY there Oct. 10th, and I am so excited for her. Also, if anyone lives close enough.....Canton has a support group tomorrow night. It is near Stark State College if anyone is interested. I really like that one.

Hey Tom....thanks for the greeting. Back on Track is a program up at St. Vincents (where I had surgery) for people who never achieved goal weight or gained some back. It is led by a dietician and a psychologist on alternating weeks. It does cost $.....I paid and attended 2 different 12 week sessions. Now I volunteer by bringing healthy foods and snacks for the meeting. I see you are on the Spin Off group also.....I was thinking about that, but it's been a loooong time since I rode a bike!

Thanks for the welcome. I was sitting close to you at the Summa Meeting on 8/24. I took my first ride on Sunday with my husband. I ended up falling over when I put my legs down after the ride. They felt like jello. I am not sure how to rsvp or decline rides yet. I do pick up my bicycle this coming Friday and want to get a little more practice before I ride along with the group.
