The Spin-offs Weekend on the Great Allegheny Passage
Registration for a weekend cycling trip on the GAP is now open. We travel to Confluence, Pennsylvania on Friday May 18 and spend the weekend exploring the Confluence and Ohiopyle areas of the GAP. This is one of the most scenic areas of America’s premier rails-to-trails bicycle trail.
Confluence is the perfect spot to spend a weekend in the Laurel Highlands. Ohiopyle and Ohiopyle State Pak are only 10 miles away. This area is home to premier river rafting, kayaking and canoeing. As the most popular and largest state park in Pennsylvania, it is home to numerous hiking trails and other outdoor activities.
The
Paddler’s Lane Resort is our home base for the weekend. We have reserved the main house and campsites are available in the adjacent campground. This is a top notch facility that is about a mile from Confluence and two miles from the GAP trailhead.
The best news is the price for the weekend. For $120/person you will get two night’s accommodations, 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, as well as, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. If you would rather camp, the cost will be $70/person. This is an amazing price for a weekend of cycling with friends in an amazing place. As an incentive, you will receive a commemorative t-shirt if you register before March 1.
Space is limited to 18 in the main house. Please reserve your spot early. Room assignments will be made on a first come, first served basis. You only need to send in a 50% deposit with your reservation to hold your spot.
